Steps

1. Score the skin of the duck breast in a criss-cross pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat. 2. Season both sides with salt and pepper. 3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. 4. Place duck breast skin-side down and cook for 6-8 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden. 5. Flip the duck breast and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium rare. 6. Remove the duck breast and let it rest. 7. In the same skillet, add orange juice, zest, honey, chicken broth, and soy sauce. 8. Simmer and reduce the sauce until slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes. 9. Slice the duck breast and drizzle with the orange glaze. 10. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired and serve immediately.
