Steps

1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. 2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. 3. Add sliced chicken breast to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. 4. Reduce heat to low, add the cooked pasta and basil pesto to the pan, stirring to coat everything evenly. 5. If using, add halved cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2 minutes until slightly softened. 6. Remove from heat and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top. 7. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
