Steps
1. Pat the cod fillet dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
3. Place the cod fillet in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden and crispy.
4. Carefully flip the cod and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
5. Remove the cod from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
6. In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and add butter.
7. Once butter melts, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
8. Stir in lemon juice and zest, and cook for another 30 seconds.
9. Pour the lemon garlic butter sauce over the cod.
10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
