Steps
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease an 8-inch cast iron skillet or round cake pan.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, creamed corn, egg, and melted butter until combined.
4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until combined; do not overmix.
5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
6. Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.
