Classic Dahi Baray

Dahi Baray are soft lentil dumplings soaked in creamy yogurt and topped with tangy chutneys and spices. This refreshing dish is perfect as an appetizer or a light snack.

Steps

1. Drain the soaked urad dal and blend it with cumin seeds and salt until smooth. 2. Heat oil in a pan and drop spoonfuls of the lentil mixture to fry until golden brown. 3. Once fried, soak the baray in water for about 10 minutes to soften. 4. Squeeze out excess water and place them on a serving plate. 5. Pour yogurt over the baray, followed by tamarind and mint chutneys. 6. Sprinkle red chili powder and chaat masala on top. 7. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve chilled.
