Butter-Poached Cod with Soft-Boiled Egg

Steps

1. Bring a small pot of water to a gentle boil and carefully add the egg. Boil for exactly 6 minutes for a soft center. Remove and place in cold water to stop cooking. 2. Season the cod fillet with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. 3. In a non-stick pan, melt the butter over low heat until it begins to foam gently. 4. Add the cod fillet and poach it gently in the butter for about 4-5 minutes per side, until cooked through and opaque. 5. Peel the soft-boiled egg. 6. Plate the cod and place the soft-boiled egg beside it. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. 7. Serve immediately.
