Steps
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a small pan, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
3. Brush one side of each bread slice with the garlic oil.
4. Place one slice, garlic side up, on a baking dish.
5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and chopped parsley evenly over the bread.
6. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Place the second slice of bread on top, garlic side down.
8. Melt butter and brush it over the top slice.
9. Beat the egg and brush over the top to give a golden finish.
10. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the bread is crispy and cheese melted.
11. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
