Mauritius Bhajia

Steps

1. In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, grated potato, chopped onion, green chili, cumin seeds, turmeric, chili powder, coriander, and salt. 2. Gradually add water while stirring to form a thick, smooth batter that can hold its shape. 3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. 4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying in batches without overcrowding. 5. Fry until the bhajias turn golden brown and crisp, about 3-4 minutes. 6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. 7. Serve hot with tamarind or mint chutney.
