Fennel Dumplings (Huíxiāng Jiǎozi)

Delicate Chinese-style dumplings filled with fragrant fennel and pork, offering a unique anise-flavored twist. These dumplings are perfect for a light and aromatic meal.

Steps

1. In a bowl, combine ground pork, finely chopped fennel, green onion, soy sauce, grated ginger, sesame oil, and salt. Mix well until evenly combined. 2. Place a dumpling wrapper on your palm, add about 1 tsp of filling in the center. 3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and pinch the edges to seal tightly. 4. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling. 5. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add dumplings in batches, cook until they float plus 2 more minutes. 6. Remove dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot with soy sauce or chili oil.
