Lemony Steamed Cod for Gout-Friendly Eating

A light and refreshing steamed cod recipe infused with bright lemon and fresh herbs, perfect for a gout-friendly diet. This dish is low in purines and easy to prepare.

Steps

1. Rinse the cod fillet and pat dry with paper towels. 2. Place the water or vegetable broth in the bottom of a steaming pot. 3. Lay the cod fillet on a heatproof plate that fits inside the steamer. 4. Drizzle olive oil over the fish and sprinkle minced garlic, salt, and pepper. 5. Arrange lemon slices on top of the cod. 6. Sprinkle fresh dill or parsley over the fish. 7. Place the plate inside the steamer, cover, and steam for 8-10 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. 8. Carefully remove the plate, serve immediately with a wedge of lemon if desired.
